The Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania welcomed U.S. Vivek M. Murthy, Surgeon General of the United States, visited the Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania on April 3. Dr. Murthy conducted two roundtable discussions at the BGCWPA Estelle S. Campell Clubhouse in Lawrenceville as part of his national advisory "Protecting youth mental health". The first roundtable was with teens from BGCWPA and PA Youth Advocacy Network of Jewish Healthcare Foundation. The second was with community leaders, including representatives from Allegheny County Department of Human Services and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh.
Isabelle Bajeux Besnainou was officially installed as the 10th Dean of Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business on Thursday, April 13. She is also the Richard P. Simmons professor of finance at this university. Bajeux Besnainou is the dean of Tepper School of Business. She has held this position since October 2020.
The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Main and University of Pittsburgh held an event on April 13 to unveil the August Wilson Archive Exhibit. Trinidy, a Junior at University Preparatory Milliones was the curator for the exhibit. She gave a curator's talk at the event in the CLP South Wing reading room, followed by a local playwright Mark Clayton Southers. The exhibit will remain at CLP Main until the end of May and then move to Hill District.
