‘Barbenheimer' Is Coming: AMC Says It Has Already Sold 20,000 Same-Day Tickets for the ‘Barbie' and ‘Oppenheimer' Double Feature

The summer's most popular ticket is the "Barbie"-"Oppenheimer", double feature.

AMC Theaters announced this week that over 20,000 members of the AMC Stubs program had purchased tickets for the unexpected cinematic pairing to be viewed on the same date.

The release of Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie has been scheduled for July 21 for the last year. Internet users have declared "Barbenheimer", a double-feature that must be seen, a must see due to the contrast between the bubbly and bright "Barbie" with the somber nuclear bomb drama.

In a statement, AMC Theaters Vice President of Programming Elizabeth Frank stated that "[this] is a sign that the online discussion about these films is turning into sales of tickets."
