Here's a list of Mass. breweries that opened in 2022

The brewing industry has seen a slowdown in growth last year, as sales of beer have decreased across the country.

According to Business Journal's research, 38 breweries plan to open in 2022. Only half of those 38 breweries were able follow through. This is about the same as 2021 when only half of the planned breweries actually opened.

We count any brewery that opens a new location, or another one after it or enters the commercial market. Some of the listed breweries already had a presence but were looking to expand.

• Newburyport Brewing Co. appeared on the original list. Crystal Rimoczy, Allison Fisher and the wives of co-owners Newburyport Brewing Co. opened Alewives Tap Room to sell Newburyport Brewing Co.
