FAA opens new probe into Boeing, this time involving 787 Dreamliner inspections

Investigators are looking into whether Boeing employees neglected some quality inspections on their 787 jets, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The FAA is examining whether the inspections were performed and if there were any falsifications of aircraft records. During the investigation, Boeing employees will inspect undelivered Dreamliners and develop a plan for the currently operating planes, the FAA stated. In April, Boeing voluntarily notified the FAA that certain required inspections for bonding and grounding were potentially incomplete. This comes after a Boeing engineer raised quality concerns about the manufacturing process in April.
