Investigators are looking into a fatal crash involving a Ford Mustang Mach-E equipped with advanced driving assistance technology. The vehicle collided with a stopped Honda CR-V. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are conducting separate investigations. These agencies are examining various crashes involving advanced driver assistance systems, including those from Tesla, General Motors, Hyundai, and Volvo. Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free system and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Centering Assist were recently rated poorly by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The NTSB plans to release a preliminary report in 30 days and a final report within one to two years.
