Judge to Consider Fines for Trump Violating Gag Order #

Judge Juan Merchan will decide whether to fine Donald Trump for repeatedly violating a gag order. The order prohibits the former president from publicly discussing witnesses or jurors in a criminal hush money case. The Manhattan district attorney’s office filed a motion, accusing Trump of posting on social media about his former lawyer Michael Cohen and the jury in his case. Prosecutors are seeking a $1,000 fine per violation. The gag order, imposed in March, prohibits Trump from making statements about potential witnesses, attorneys, court staff, and the family members of prosecutors, lawyers, and court officials. Trump is also not allowed to make statements about any potential or actual juror.
