An Iowa company is about to acquire a South Florida-based aluminum window and doors manufacturer.
Pella Corporation has announced that it has signed a deal with Lawson Industries of Medley, which manufactures and installs impact resistant windows and doors. A company release said that the deal would allow Pella to expand their presence in South Florida.
Lawson Industries was founded in 1960 and employs 300 employees. The company's headquarters is located in a plant of 330,000 square feet at 8501 N.W. According to Lawson’s website, the 90th St. was built in 1999. Lawson purchased the 14,3-acre property the facility sits on in January 1999 for $2.56 Million.
Lawson Industries, Inc. will continue operating under its brand name Lawson Industries, Inc., and 300 employees of Lawson will remain at the company after Pella completes the sale in the summer.
Lawson's highly-skilled workforce and ability to grow is a perfect match for Pella. Polly Tousey stated that the Pella Family of Brands will benefit from Lawson's skilled workforce and capacity for continued growth.
Harold Bailey, the president of Lawson Industries said that he was excited to see his company become a part Pella.
Bailey stated that "Pella has been a brand for nearly 100 years and is privately owned by its original family, who founded the company in 1925." "We are confident that they will take care of our team and continue to grow the business," Bailey said.
The Pella Corporation was founded in Pella, Iowa in 1925. It has nine brands and 19 manufacturing facilities, plus 11,000 employees, and almost 250 showrooms.
